While working on some updates for the WPDFI script, I decided that it would be a great idea to provide you with a demo version of the script.
Even though there’s already a brief video (opens in a new window) that details the import process, I figure nothing beats actually using the script for yourself to see how comfortable you are with it.
There are some things you should know about the demo version before downloading it:
- Only 10 items can be imported at a time.
- A signature that reads “this product imported with the WordPress Datafeed Import script” will be appended to each imported product.
- Time delay is disabled (all products will be imported immediately instead of being able to set up a schedule).
- Limited customization tokens. In the full version, there are a number of tokens you can use to customize the content. In the demo, a number of these tokens are disabled.
Aside from the above mentioned, there aren’t any other limitations on the script — nope, not even a time limit. The zip package includes a brief read me file, the datafeed import script files, and a sample datafeed.
In order to use the demo, you’ll need a working installation of WordPress 2.1.x ; Chances are, if you’re successfully running an installation of WordPress, then your server meets the minimum requirements for the script.
